Plan the actual workflow
Record stock lengths and whether material can bend or needs continuous support. Separate incoming bundles from pieces opened for individual retrieval. Explain how workers identify usable remnants and where cut material waits before assembly. The longest item is only one part of the choice; frequency of retrieval and handling equipment also matter.
Compare the storage arrangement
Compare cantilever arrangements for suitable long loads with shelves for boxed fittings. Include any protective wrapping and the space used to remove it. Request an assessment of support spacing and load distribution for the actual materials. Do not infer performance from a visually similar rack in another workshop.
A useful brief for this project
- Material rigidity and packaging
- Opened bundles and remnants
- Retrieval frequency and handling
Planning question
Does one long-material rack suit wood and composite stock equally?+
The material, support and handling requirements may differ. Describe each load family for review.
