Plan the actual workflow
List kits by the equipment they serve and identify which pieces must stay together. Record bulky tools, consumables and replacement assemblies separately. Explain how a kit is checked after use and when seasonal equipment returns to service. Storage positions should make missing items visible rather than conceal them in a large mixed container.
Compare the storage arrangement
Compare shelf-supported kits with smaller bins for replenishment parts. Include the heaviest container and the cart or lifting method used to retrieve it. Keep any chemicals or materials with special storage requirements in a separately assessed scope; generic shelving does not establish hazardous-material suitability.
A useful brief for this project
- Equipment-specific kits
- Return checks and seasonal schedule
- Container weights and retrieval method
Planning question
Can a kit shelf also hold chemicals?+
Only after the specific materials and storage requirements are assessed. Do not treat a general workshop shelf as approval.
